Constantly Searching for the Perfect Program is Procrastination

There are always new diet and exercise programs claiming to be the most effective. It’s important to realize there are no perfect diet or exercise programs. Most people already know more than enough to get in great shape.

        Constantly searching for the perfect program is essentially an act of procrastination. All you really need to know to lose body fat is:

1)  Eat less

2)  Move more

3)  Lift heavy stuff, so you can build and maintain muscle.

Instead of procrastinating by searching the web for the perfect program; I recommend you use that time to log your food using the MyFitnessPal, tracking your movement with an activity tracker, and hitting the weights two to three times a week focusing on basic compound movements like the squat, deadlift, presses, and rows.

I know I have oversimplified what it takes to get in shape in this post, but most people are overcomplicating it. Stop looking, stop planning, and start executing. Getting in shape isn’t complicated.

Discipline pushes us, motivation pulls us, but intentional habits keep us moving towards our goals.
